On the occasion of the historic inscription of the Carnac megaliths and the Morbihan riverbanks on the UNESCO World Heritage List, a festive, cultural, and family-friendly weekend took place from Friday, September 19 to Sunday, September 21, 2025.
To celebrate this exceptional event, Varec’h Kayak offered a guided kayak outing on Sunday, September 21 on the waters of the Golfe du Morbihan, blending history, nature, and conviviality.

In July 2025, the Carnac megaliths and the Morbihan riverbanks were officially inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List — a recognition of their remarkable prehistoric legacy. These sites (Carnac alignments, tumuli, the Gavrinis cairn, and more) bear witness to more than 7,000 years of human history.
“Mégalithes en fête” featured three days of festivities — drone shows, concerts, visits, workshops, discovery tours, and more — for everyone to enjoy.

A Unique Kayaking Outing to Extend the Celebration 🎉
On Sunday, September 21, join us from the Varec’h Kayak base in Baden for a 13-km guided kayak tour (approx. 4 hours) led by a certified instructor.
This immersive experience lets you glide between islands, explore tidal currents, and admire local wildlife and flora. Throughout the tour, your guide will share insights into the megalithic heritage and its UNESCO inscription.
A picnic stop on a beach allows you to soak up the peaceful surroundings and recharge before continuing 😊
The route takes you via Port-Blanc (Baden) and along Île-aux-Moines (site of the Kergonan enclosure and the Pen Hap dolmen), then across Kergonan Cove toward Île de la Jument. The goal is to reach the Er Lannic cromlech and circle Île Gavrinis, with views of the Cairn. Return is via Île Creizic and Île-aux-Moines.
